The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) recently released a corrigendum, marked as Notification No. 22/2024 dated February 21, 2024, amending Notification No. 19/2024 dated January 31, 2024. This corrigendum serves to provide clarity and notify six specific changes and aspects concerning the Income Tax Return (ITR) Forms, namely ITR-2, ITR-3, and ITR-5, for the Assessment Year (A.Y.) 2024-25.

To address a common customer need for bigger and faster SRAM, Microchip Technology has expanded its Serial SRAM product line to include larger densities of up to 4 Mb and increased Serial Peripheral Interface/Serial Quad I/O Interface (SPI/SQI) speed to 143 MHz. The 2 Mb and 4 Mb devices are designed to provide a lower-cost alternative to traditional parallel SRAM products and include optional battery backup switchover circuitry in the SRAM memory to retain data on power loss.

The income tax department on Tuesday allowed trusts and institutions, which filed audit reports for the assessment year 2023-24 in incorrect forms, to file documents in correct forms by March 31. Income of any fund or institution or trust or any university or other educational institution or any hospital is exempt from income tax subject to fulfilment of certain conditions.

Advisory on GSTR-1/IFF: Introduction of New 14A and 15A tables 12/03/2024 It is informed to all taxpayers that as per Notification No. 26/2022 – Central Tax dated 26th December 2022 two new Table 14A and Table 15A have been introduced in GSTR-1 to capture the amendment details of the supplies made through e-commerce operators (ECO) on which e-commerce operators are liable to collect tax under section 52 or liable to pay tax u/s 9(5) of the CGST Act, 2017. These tables have now been made live on the GST common portal and will be available in GSTR-1/IFF from February 2024 tax period onwards. These amendment tables are relevant for those taxpayers who have reported the supplies in Table 14 or Table 15 in earlier tax periods. Microsoft has launched two new Surface laptops that feature a dedicated “Copilot” button for quick access to its chatbot assistant. The Surface Pro 10 for Business and Surface Laptop 6 for Business are designed to showcase the convenience of having generative AI just a keystroke away. These new “AI PCs” sport the familiar Surface designs but now come equipped with Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors, which boast a specialised neural processing unit (NPU) for accelerating AI workloads. While Surface devices have included NPUs since 2019, the addition of the Copilot button represents a significant shift in how users will interact with their computers. Located to the left of the arrow keys, the Copilot button allows users to summon Microsoft’s AI assistant in a sidebar on the right side of the screen. This positioning of the AI alongside the user’s workspace aims to enhance productivity and efficiency by providing context-aware assistance on demand.
